Last weekend the swiss alpine battle 2017, in Villars-Sur-Ollon, took place.
Since 2015 it is a very good organisezed event during the presaison at the „small“ side of the Sportscenter in the french speaking village.
Around the competition we had a bit of a programm planed. So we visited the glacer3000, and had a blast walking over the peakwalk on 3000m.
The competition:
The events already started on friday with a not public swim event. Most of the athlethes we spoken with told us that the SkiErg and the directly following swim where hell.
WOD 1: The Biathlon
500m swim
220 calories SkiErg
Therefore everyone was happy that it was the last and only event on friday.
- Saturday was quit busy, 4 events were scheduled:
Event 2: The Trail Run
Trail run in the beautiful Swiss mountains.
Around 8km up and down with some of the best athletes
of this years crossfit games.

One Athlet told us that it was very hard to run, because the air and the height, however for example patrick vellner and sam briggs were runing beside her, and had fun talking about the exelent view and the nice weather. So different wod interpretations could be, very interessting.
Event 3: All In-1 LADDER Individual Event - For time Part A 10 snatches 70/45 kg 8 snatches 80/55 kg 6 snatches 90/65 kg 4 snatches 100/70 kg Part B 1 rep max clean and jerk
The level gab between the first 10 teams and the rest of the pack are huge was the statment from a athlet after this wod. Also the importance to have a strong „girl“ as partner were really visible.
Event 4: SYNCHRO SKILLS For time 42 synchro single arm DB alt snatches 21 synchro single arm DB thrusters 75 single unders (unbroken) 30 synchro single arm DB alt snatches 15 synchro single arm DB thrusters 50 double unders (unbroken) 18 synchro single arm DB alt snatches 9 synchro single arm DB thrusters 25 trible unders Dumbbell: 22.5/15 kg
For us the first time we saw „trible unders“ in a competition, most of the athlets made always single or double attemps. For us confusing were the fact that the most had problems with the 75 single unders.
Event 5: Quick and Nasty (for time) 10 rounds of : 2 synchro bar muscle-ups 4 sandbag cleans 68/45 kg
More problems with the wod-standards during the execution, as with the weights. Despite that fact it was very nice to watch how most of the female athletes made „chickenwings“ during perfoming a bar muscle up. Quit a hard exercise for female anyway.

Never saw this gear before, was very exhausting only fliping the blank bar without weight, what energie it would need to flip the weight i the pic?!
Event 7: Classic Chipper (for time)
60 overhead squats 60/45 kg
50 box jump-overs
40 GHD sit-ups
1000 m row (score part B)
30 double kettlebell shoulder-to-overheads
20 deadlifts 140/100 kg
10 rope climbs
The rope climbs started legless what made it very hard for the girls because they had to jump up and go the first 2 armlenght only by hands.
Event 8 – the finale „swiss tree-plet“
